Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” | Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, it will be enough for us.” |
But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be noticed by people but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. | But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that the fact that you are fasting will not be obvious to others but only to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you. |
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. | Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. |
Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. | Therefore, strive to be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect. |
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. | Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
So you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. | Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son. |
If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him. | If you know me, then you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him. You have seen him. |
Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.’ | This is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’ |
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever. | And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever. |
And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you for your offenses. | And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too. |
If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. | If anyone wishes to serve me, he must follow me. Where I am, there also will my servant be. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor that person. |
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. | For everything that is in the world— the concupiscence of the flesh, the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life— comes not from the Father but from the world. |
Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will. | Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done. |
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. | Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father, but whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. |
But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. | But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. |
The one who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne. | To anyone who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself overcame and sat with my Father on his throne. |
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. | He has rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. |
Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, the one who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. | Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me. |

As for you, see that what you heard from the beginning remains in you.
