Bible Verses about Freedom

It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore, stand firm and refuse to submit again to the yoke of slavery. So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
Now this Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you then will truly be free.So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
Brethren, you were called to freedom. However, make sure that you do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Instead, serve one another in love. For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not allow myself to be dominated by anything. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.
I will walk in complete freedom because I have sought your commands.I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to announce good news to the oppressed, to strengthen the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom to those held in captivity and release to those who have been imprisoned. The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
The misfortunes of the righteous man are many, but the Lord delivers him, from all of them. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.
As servants of God, behave as free people, but do not use your freedom as a means to cover up wrongdoing. For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who did believe in him, “If you remain faithful to my word, you will truly be my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Hence, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life. But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free.
However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
He gives a home to those who are forsaken and leads out prisoners amid chants of exultation, while rebels are forced to live in an arid land.God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not!Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!
Help us, O God, our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and wipe away our sins for your name’s sake.Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name.
You must understand, brethren, that it is through him that forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you. All those who believe are justified from all the things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses.Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do.
Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he protects the souls of his faithful ones and rescues them from the hand of the wicked. You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked.
