Life (4/6)

Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live.”For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live.
The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.
The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
