Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established. | Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. |
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it? | For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has enough to complete it? |
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. | For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. |
A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. | The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps. |

This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance. | This also comes from the Lord of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom. |
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. | These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. |
Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright. | Do not envy the violent and do not choose any of their ways; for the perverse are an abomination to the Lord, but the upright are in his confidence. |
Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. | Surely the Lord God does nothing, without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets. |
