Vo všetkej múdrosti sa navzájom poúčajte a napomínajte a pod vplyvom milosti spievajte Bohu vo svojich srdciach žalmy, hymny a duchovné piesne.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!Oslavujte Pána a vzývajte jeho meno, rozhlasujte jeho skutky medzi národmi.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.Napokon, bratia, myslite na všetko, čo je pravdivé, čo je cudné, čo je spravodlivé, čo je mravne čisté, čo je milé a čo má dobrú povesť, čo je čnostné a chválitebné!

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise.Uzdrav ma, Pane, a budem zdravý, zachráň ma a budem zachránený, lebo ty si moja chvála.
I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.S úprimným srdcom ti chcem ďakovať, že som poznal tvoje spravodlivé výroky.
I cried to Him with my mouth, And He was extolled with my tongue.Moje ústa ho vzývali a môj jazyk velebil.
I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, And have now made known to me what we asked of You, For You have made known to us the king’s demand.Teba, Bože mojich otcov, chválim a oslavujem, pretože si mi dal múdrosť a silu a teraz si mi dal vedieť, o čo sme ťa prosili, lebo si nám oznámil kráľovu vec.

Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”Tu Jób vstal, roztrhol si odev, oholil si hlavu, padol na zem, klaňal sa a povedal: „Nahý som vyšiel z lona svojej matky a nahý sa ta vrátim. Pán dal, Pán vzal, nech je Pánovo meno zvelebené!“
