Let your attitude be identical to that of Christ Jesus. | Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. |
Turn away from youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart. | Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. |
Persevere in prayer, with alert minds and thankful hearts. | Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. |
For who is God except the Lord? Who is a rock aside from our God? | For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God? |
The Lord makes poor and makes rich, he humbles and he also exalts. | The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. |
Make every effort to present yourself before God as one who is worthy of his approval, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, but who imparts the word of truth without any alteration. | Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. |
