- The Lord is with you, while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
- The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us.
- And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. - The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands. - Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
- Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
- I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you.
- Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.
- For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his faithful ones.
The righteous shall be kept safe forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. - It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
- Let the wicked forsake their way,
and the unrighteous their thoughts;
let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your parent;
do not go to the house of your kindred in the day of your calamity.
Better is a neighbor who is nearby
than kindred who are far away. - Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done.
A fool despises a parent's instruction,
but the one who heeds admonition is prudent.
