| I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. | I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father. |
| I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. | I, I am he who comforts you; why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die, a human being who fades like grass? |
