It is honorable to avoid strife, but every fool is quarrelsome.It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.
An ignorant man causes strife by his insolence, but wisdom is found with those who take advice.Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
Nor should you present any part of your body as an instrument for wickedness leading to sin. Rather, present yourselves to God as having been raised from death to life and the parts of your body to God as instruments for righteousness.Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
Anyone who leads an honorable life walks in safety, but whoever pursues wicked ways will be found out.Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
If you are angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not give the devil an opening.“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
The Lord is good, an unfailing refuge in a time of distress. He takes care of those who place their trust in him.The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
An honorable name is more to be desired than great riches, and high esteem is preferable to silver and gold.A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
A truthful witness does not lie, but a false witness lies incessantly.An honest witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works.And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
Until a spirit from on high is poured out upon us, and the wilderness becomes an orchard and the fruitful field becomes a forest.Till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest.
Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as if you were doing it for the Lord and not for others, since you know that you will receive from the Lord an inheritance as your reward for you are serving the Lord Christ.Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Yet even so, because of your great compassion, you did not completely destroy them, nor did you forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
Examine me, O God, and know my heart; test me and understand my thoughts. See if I follow an evil way, and guide me on the way to eternity.Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
He gives a home to those who are forsaken and leads out prisoners amid chants of exultation, while rebels are forced to live in an arid land.God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
The wealth of a rich man is his stronghold; he regards it as a high wall that cannot be scaled.The wealth of the rich is their fortified city; they imagine it a wall too high to scale.
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a sacrificial offering whose fragrance is pleasing to God.And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
My son, do not forget my teaching, but cherish my commandments in your heart, for they will bring you length of days, more years of life, and an abundance of prosperity.My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.

When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt.If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.
