It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. |
Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. | Serve only the Lord your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him. |

This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law. |

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. | For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth. |
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. | Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. |
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. | Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen. |
