| And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. | And the world with all its enticements is passing away, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. |
| So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. | Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God. |
| I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. | I press on toward the finishing line to win the heavenly prize to which God has called me in Christ Jesus. |
| And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. | May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ. |
| For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. | He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God. |
| For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. | Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. |
| Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. | Come to your senses and sin no more. For some of you have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. |
| But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. | However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God. |
| Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. | Jesus said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” |
| The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. |
| So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. | So then, faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ. |
| But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. | Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. |
