As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.Hence, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “no idol in the world really exists,” and that “there is no God but one.”
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.”
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.This means understanding that the law is laid down not for the innocent but for the lawless and disobedient, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers, fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.Keep my steps steady according to your promise, and never let iniquity have dominion over me.
