As a child (3/4)

  • He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
  • I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions,
    And like a cloud, your sins.
    Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.
  • There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
  • But let justice run down like water,
    And righteousness like a mighty stream.
  • As far as the east is from the west,
    So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
  • I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
    As much as in all riches.
  • And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.
  • I spread out my hands to You;
    My soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah
  • There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
  • I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
    I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
  • If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
  • For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
  • For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
  • For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
    With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
  • As iron sharpens iron,
    So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
  • As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
  • “Come now, and let us reason together,”
    Says the Lord,
    “Though your sins are like scarlet,
    They shall be as white as snow;
    Though they are red like crimson,
    They shall be as wool.”
  • Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
  • The Lord God is my strength;
    He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
    And He will make me walk on my high hills.
  • But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
  • A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
  • Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
  • And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
  • It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy,
    And afterward to reconsider his vows.
  • In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
