- My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
For the Lord corrects those he loves,

- This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Listen carefully to my words.
Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart. - For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
