Believe and receive (2/4)

  • Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost sinner Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.
  • And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.
  • But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
  • Furthermore, as for every person to whom God has given riches and wealth, He has also given him the opportunity to enjoy them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.
  • Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.”
  • But the Scripture has confined everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
  • Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
  • For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf.
  • Paul said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
  • But the one who did not know it, and committed acts deserving of a beating, will receive only a few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
  • Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
  • For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
  • The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
  • Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
  • All the prophets testify of Him, that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.
  • Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife,
But wisdom is with those who receive counsel.
  • So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe them. For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
  • The one who has believed and has been baptized will be saved; but the one who has not believed will be condemned.
  • But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction.
  • Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.
  • For one who finds me finds life,
And obtains favor from the Lord.
  • Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not to have quarrels over opinions.
  • And though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
  • Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us, for the glory of God.
  • Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you now believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

Random Bible Verse

Even if the fig tree does not blossom,
And there is no fruit on the vines,
If the yield of the olive fails,
And the fields produce no food,
Even if the flock disappears from the fold,
And there are no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will triumph in the Lord,
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.
