- Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.
- The fear of man proves to be a snare,
but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe. - Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
- Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.
- Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.
- Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
- But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

and rejected by men,
a man of suffering
and acquainted with disease.
He was despised as one from whom men hide their face;
and we didn’t respect him. - Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
- Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
- Salvation belongs to Yahweh.
May your blessing be on your people. Selah. - In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate to one another; in honor prefer one another.
- Yahweh makes poor and makes rich.
He brings low, he also lifts up. - Don’t judge,
and you won’t be judged.
Don’t condemn,
and you won’t be condemned.
Set free,
and you will be set free. - One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
- And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.
- Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged.
- Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
- Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits.
- But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”
- Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to be building him up.
- He who hides hatred has lying lips.
He who utters a slander is a fool. - Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
- Not rendering evil for evil or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
