But you may wonder, ‘How will we know whether or not a prophecy is from the Lord?’ If the prophet speaks in the Lord’s name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that the Lord did not give that message. That prophet has spoken without my authority and need not be feared. Deuteronomy 18:21-22	And if you say in your heart, ‘How will we recognize the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ When the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!” Acts 1:10-11	And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. 1 Corinthians 15:21	For since by a man death came, by a Man also came the resurrection of the dead. Jesus death resurrection
That is why the Lord says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.” Joel 2:12	“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping, and mourning.” conversion fasting sadness
Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’ John 7:38	The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ faith Word of God life
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17	Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. creation Jesus rebirth
So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. Matthew 24:42	Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. second coming patience end times
We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us. Ecclesiastes 5:15	As he came naked from his mother’s womb, so he will return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand. greed materialism heaven
The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Psalm 121:7-8	The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in From this time and forever. hope life evil
On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Acts 2:1-2	When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a noise like a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Spirit heaven pentecost
Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all. 1 Corinthians 15:34	Sober up morally and stop sinning, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame. righteousness sin conversion
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. Ephesians 4:29	Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear. speaking gossip goodness
The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers! Ecclesiastes 5:11	When good things increase, those who consume them increase. So what is the advantage to their owners except to look at them? materialism money desires
Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37	Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. judgment forgiveness
Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.” John 20:29	Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you now believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.” faith Jesus blessing
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6	And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him. faith joy reward
