| I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. | I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire. |
| Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. | And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. |

| It is a snare to say rashly, “It is holy,” and to reflect only after making vows. | It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry. |

Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. | Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. |
| I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. | I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. |
| Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind. | Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit. |
