- Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately sick;
who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart
and test the mind,
to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his deeds.” - Put away from you crooked speech,
and put devious talk far from you. - The wicked earns deceptive wages,
but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward. - As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.
- A gentle tongue is a tree of life,
but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. - For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.”
God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.Next verse!With image
