- A good man produces good from the store of goodness in his heart, whereas an evil man produces evil from the store of evil within him. For the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart.
- Guard your heart with all possible vigilance,
for from it flow the wellsprings of life. - And so you should put to death everything in your nature that is earthly: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desires, and greed (which is idolatry).
- I will offer praise to you, O Lord,
with my whole heart;
I will recount all your wondrous deeds. - Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus.

so does one human heart reflect another. - Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
causing the heart to rejoice.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving light to the eyes. - Take delight in the Lord,
and he will grant you what your heart desires. - A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Anxiety in the human heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God is my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold. - My son, concentrate attentively on my words;
pay heed to the instructions I pass on to you.
Do not let them slip from your mind;
keep them forever in your heart. - When you search for me, you will find me. When you seek me with all your heart.
- Like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may advance on the path to salvation.
- Blessed are those who observe his statutes
and seek him with their whole heart.
