- My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever. - Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever:
for they are the rejoicing of my heart. - Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight,
O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. - Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. - Lord, all my desire is before thee;
and my groaning is not hid from thee. - Yea, in the way of thy judgments,
O Lord, have we waited for thee;
the desire of our soul is to thy name,
and to the remembrance of thee. - Whom have I in heaven but thee?
and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. - My son, if thine heart be wise,
my heart shall rejoice, even mine. - The desire of a man is his kindness:
and a poor man is better than a liar. - Grant thee according to thine own heart,
and fulfil all thy counsel. - I delight to do thy will, O my God:
yea, thy law is within my heart. - As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.
- Incline my heart unto thy testimonies,
and not to covetousness. - The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:
therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
and with my song will I praise him. - For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
- Teach me thy way, O Lord;
I will walk in thy truth:
unite my heart to fear thy name. - A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
- But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
- Though an host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident. - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
- Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
- As in water face answereth to face,
so the heart of man to man. - Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. - The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:
a broken and a contrite heart,
O God, thou wilt not despise.
Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it are the issues of life.I will be glad and rejoice in thee:
I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
