Bible Verses about 'Discipline'

You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but those who hate to be rebuked are stupid.
As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.
My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction; for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects, even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights. My child, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves the one he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. How happy is the one whom God reproves; therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you.
All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
But I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified. But I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.
For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.
A fool despises his father’s correction, but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.A fool despises a parent's instruction, but the one who heeds admonition is prudent.
He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but one who rejects a rebuke goes astray.
But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer. The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers.
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one.
Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.
Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Therefore prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed.

Bible verse of the day

One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
