Bible Verses about 'Discipline'

You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.
As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.
My son, don’t despise Yahweh’s discipline, neither be weary of his correction; for whom Yahweh loves, he corrects, even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights. My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.
You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.
All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
But I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
A fool despises his father’s correction, but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise.
He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.
But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer. The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.
