Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.

But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.
A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.Only a fool despises a parent’s discipline; whoever learns from correction is wise.
He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray.
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead.
Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!
And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples began breaking off heads of grain to eat. But the Pharisees said to Jesus, “Look, why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?” Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you ever read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He went into the house of God (during the days when Abiathar was high priest) and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests are allowed to eat. He also gave some to his companions.” Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!”
