Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.But I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.
A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.A fool despises his father’s correction, but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.

How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.He was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?” He said to them, “Did you never read what David did when he had need and was hungry—he, and those who were with him? How he entered into God’s house at the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to those who were with him?” He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
