Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord rescues them from them all.
For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin).
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated.
Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf. For he has graciously granted you the privilege not only of believing in Christ, but of suffering for him as well.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him.He was despised and rejected by others; a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity; and as one from whom others hide their faces he was despised, and we held him of no account.
He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me isn’t worthy of me.And whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
Surely he has borne our sickness and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.Surely he has borne our infirmities and carried our diseases; yet we accounted him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted.
That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death.I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ. For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ.
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh’s name.”Then Job arose, tore his robe, shaved his head, and fell on the ground and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.
He humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know, that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth. He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
