Done (2/3)

  • For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
  • Who “will render to each one according to his deeds”
  • But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
  • But our God is in heaven;
    He does whatever He pleases.
  • Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.
  • So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
  • But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
  • Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
    Call upon His name;
    Make known His deeds among the peoples!
  • Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy;
    For You render to each one according to his work.
  • For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  • And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
  • And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
  • Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

    But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”

    The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.
  • Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
  • And in that day you will say:
    “Praise the Lord, call upon His name;
    Declare His deeds among the peoples,
    Make mention that His name is exalted.”
  • This is the day the Lord has made;
    We will rejoice and be glad in it.
  • Even to your old age, I am He,
    And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
    I have made, and I will bear;
    Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
  • Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.
  • Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
  • You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
  • I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
    I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
  • Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
  • But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
  • “If you will not hear,
    And if you will not take it to heart,
    To give glory to My name,”
    Says the Lord of hosts,
    “I will send a curse upon you,
    And I will curse your blessings.
    Yes, I have cursed them already,
    Because you do not take it to heart.”
  • Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
