| Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. | And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. | Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. | And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. | Then I saw all the labor and achievement that is the envy of a man’s neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind. |
| We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. | For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also. |

| For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. | For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now and of that which is to come. |

| Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. | Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction. He opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. |
| Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. | For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. |
| This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. | This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. |
| The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him. | A man’s steps are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. |
| For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. | For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. |
| Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. | Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again. |
| In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. | The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent. |
| Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” | He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.” |
| Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. | If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. |
