| For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. | Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. |
| Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. | Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. |

But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. |
| Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. | Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. |
| But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. | But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. |
