Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you.But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. O how abundant is your goodness that you have laid up for those who fear you, and accomplished for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of everyone!Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!
Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God.Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.”And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance.The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone, and a word in season, how good it is!A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!
