- Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world. - Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens!
May your glory shine over all the earth. - Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens.
May your glory shine over all the earth. - Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today.
- In that wonderful day you will sing:
“Thank the Lord! Praise his name!
Tell the nations what he has done.
Let them know how mighty he is!” - Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.
- But when you had eaten and were satisfied,
you became proud and forgot me. - We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty;
but even though he is just and righteous,
he does not destroy us. - So the Lord must wait for you to come to him
so he can show you his love and compassion.
For the Lord is a faithful God.
Blessed are those who wait for his help. - The high and lofty one who lives in eternity,
the Holy One, says this:
“I live in the high and holy place
with those whose spirits are contrite and humble.
I restore the crushed spirit of the humble
and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.” - Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them. And those who are rich should boast that God has humbled them. They will fade away like a little flower in the field.
Who is the King of glory?
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—
he is the King of glory.
