Bible Verses about 'FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU TO AND WILL'

  • For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. It does not come from works, so that no one can boast.
  • In the same way, faith by itself is dead if it does not have works.
  • For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord,
every knee shall bow before me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.”
  • We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that a man is justified not by the works of the Law but through faith in Jesus Christ. So we too came to believe in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in him and not by the works of the Law, for no one will be justified by the works of the Law.
  • For it is in him that the entire fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and you share this fullness in him who is the head of every ruler and power.
  • Amen, amen, I say to you,
the one who believes in me
will also do the works that I do,
and indeed will do even greater ones than these,
because I am going to the Father.
  • For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.
  • Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather seek to expose them.
For it is shameful even to speak of what deeds people do in secret.
  • If anyone would boast, let him boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
  • But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them. For it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”
  • Dearly beloved, never seek revenge. Leave that to the time of retribution. For it is written, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay.”
  • Do not work for food that perishes
but for the food that endures for eternal life,
which the Son of Man will give you.
    For it is on him
that God the Father has set his seal.
  • Sing to God, sing praise to his name;
exalt him who rides upon the clouds.
Rejoice in the presence of this God
    whose name is the Lord.
The Father of orphans and the defender of widows:
such is God in his holy dwelling place.
  • Who among you is wise and understanding? Prove by your good life that your works are done with the humility that comes from wisdom.
  • And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works.
  • To those who seek after glory and honor and immortality by persevering in good works, he will grant eternal life.
  • For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.
  • No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
    who has made him known.
  • Do not withhold kindness from anyone to whom it is due
when it is in your power to grant it.
  • And now it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I live now in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
  • When you fix your gaze upon it,
it is gone before you realize it.
    For it suddenly sprouts wings
and flies up to the sky like an eagle.
  • Therefore, now I, Nebuchadnezzar,
    praise and exalt and glorify
    the King of heaven.
For all of his works are right,
and all of his ways are just.
Also, he is able to humble
all those who follow the path of pride.
  • But what I tell you is this: Do not swear at all, either by heaven, since it is God’s throne, or by earth, since that is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King.
  • God saved us and called us to a life of holiness, not because of our works but according to his own purpose and the grace that has been bestowed upon us in Christ Jesus from all eternity.
  • I also ask that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing. They should be adorned not with braided hair or with gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is fitting for women who profess their reverence for God.

If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is preferable for you to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.
