First. Order. (2/3)

He is the head of the body, the assembly, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence. He is the head of the body, that is, the Church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that in every way he should be supreme.
For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence firm to the end.For we will become partners with Christ only if we maintain firmly until the end the confidence we originally had.
For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.As long as the goodwill is present, the gift will be acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer? What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer?
Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Therefore, let us leave behind the basic teaching about Christ and advance toward maturity. We must not be forever laying the foundation: repentance for actions that lead to death, faith in God, instruction about baptisms and the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
Establish my footsteps in your word. Don’t let any iniquity have dominion over me.Guide my steps in accord with your word and never let evil triumph over me.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word.Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her in order to sanctify her by cleansing her with water and the word.
Therefore accept one another, even as Christ also accepted you, to the glory of God.Therefore, accept one another for the glory of God, just as Christ has accepted you.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new.
Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me.Keep falsehood and lying far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but simply provide me with the food that I need.
He humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know, that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth. He brought you low, allowing you to suffer from hunger. He then fed you with manna, something with which your fathers were not familiar, so that you might come to know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the Lord.
For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works. He gave himself for us in order to deliver us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people as his own who are eager to do good.
Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord.Repent, therefore, and be converted so that your sins may be wiped away.
Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions. And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too.
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool that he may become wise.Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise.
I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.I have made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.But who am I, and what are your people, that we should be able to do this? All things belong to you, and everything that we have given you is from your hand.
For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
Finally, brothers, rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.And now, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways. Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.I further pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he has called you, how rich and glorious is his inheritance in the saints.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people claimed by God as his own possession,” so that you may proclaim the praise of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
That their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love so that they may grow rich in their complete understanding as they come to the knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ.
He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.But he answered me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” Hence, I will boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell within me.

Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall give birth to a son. They shall call his name Immanuel,” which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”All this took place in order to fulfill what the Lord had announced through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and give birth to a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” a name that means “God is with us.”
