- But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.
- Therefore, we love because he first loved us.
- When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each one of you from your wicked ways.
- Then he sat down, summoned the Twelve, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must become the last of all and the servant of all.”
- Who has performed these deeds and accomplished this?
Who has summoned the nations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, am the first,
and I will be there with the last. - Which one of you, intending to build a tower, would not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has sufficient funds for its completion?
- For I am not ashamed of the gospel, since it is the power of God that offers salvation to everyone who has faith—to Jews first, and then to Gentiles as well.
- However, the wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, and considerate, full of mercy and good fruits, without any trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
- Rather, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
- This must not be so with you. Instead, whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your servant.
- Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside, and he saw and believed. They still did not understand the Scripture indicating that he must rise from the dead.
- Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
- For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
- For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him. - But I have had help from God to this very day, and I stand here and testify to both the lowly and the great. I assert nothing more than what the Prophets and Moses said would occur: that the Christ must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles.
- Honor the Lord with your wealth
and with the firstfruits of all your crops. - When the command is given, at the sound of the archangel’s voice and the call of God’s trumpet, the Lord himself will descend from heaven, and those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise. Then those of us who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord. And so, we will be with the Lord forever.
- If the world hates you,
be aware that it hated me
before it hated you. - For I handed on to you as of primary importance what I received: that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
- What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer?
- Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new.
- Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her in order to sanctify her by cleansing her with water and the word.
- He gave himself for us in order to deliver us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people as his own who are eager to do good.
- By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation.
- You intended to do evil to me, but God decided to make it serve a good, to fulfill that which today has come true: to keep alive a numerous people.
Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise.Let us remain firm in the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy. So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.Next verse! With image
