- Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
- He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. - A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - Envy thou not the oppressor,
and choose none of his ways.
For the froward is abomination to the Lord:
but his secret is with the righteous. - A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
- For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
- A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends. - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brethren to dwell together in unity! - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
- And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
- Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. - For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
- To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend;
but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. - And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
- Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
- Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
- Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not;
neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity:
for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off. - For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
- God setteth the solitary in families:
he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:
but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore.Next verse!With image
