- The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings. - But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”
- If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them,
then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. - Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
- But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
- By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
- When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
- The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

- For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
- By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
- Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me. - There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling.
- Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last.
- Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
- But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
- Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
