- The liberal soul shall be made fat:
and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. - The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. - A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth:
he will guide his affairs with discretion. - Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
- If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
- But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
- And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
- Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
- Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever;
thy throne from generation to generation. - And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
- And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.
- But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
- Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him;
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - Who hath wrought and done it,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I the Lord, the first,
and with the last; I am he. - Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.
- But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.Next verse!With image
