  • Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
    remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
    cease to do evil.
  • The Lord is merciful and gracious,
    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
  • For not by their own sword did they win the land,
    nor did their own arm save them,
    but your right hand and your arm,
    and the light of your face,
    for you delighted in them.
  • Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.
  • Wealth gained hastily will dwindle,
    but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
  • And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
  • And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
  • Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
  • For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
  • And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
  • Where shall I go from your Spirit?
    Or where shall I flee from your presence?
    If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
    If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
  • The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
    and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.
    His way is in whirlwind and storm,
    and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
  • For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
  • And rend your hearts and not your garments.
    Return to the Lord your God,
    for he is gracious and merciful,
    slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
    and he relents over disaster.
  • And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
  • Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

Bible verse of the day

and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
