- How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver. - The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom;
And with all your possessions, acquire understanding. - Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding!
Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. - Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins by calling on His name.
- Do not weary yourself to gain wealth;
Stop dwelling on it. - But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction.

Do not get upset because of one who is successful in his way,
Because of the person who carries out wicked schemes. - Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary. - These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.
- The ransom of a person’s life is his wealth,
But the poor hears no rebuke. - A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
But one who sows righteousness gets a true reward. - I know how to get along with little, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.
- But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
- So teach us to number our days,
That we may present to You a heart of wisdom. - Blessed is a person who finds wisdom,
And one who obtains understanding. - One who gets wisdom loves his own soul;
One who keeps understanding will find good. - Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
- A generous person will be prosperous,
And one who gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty. - Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not to have quarrels over opinions.
- You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.
- Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
- Establish my footsteps in Your word,
And do not let any wrongdoing have power over me. - Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.
- Do not turn to the right or to the left;
Turn your foot from evil. - Now I say this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows generously will also reap generously.
- So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
- Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And defend the rights of the poor and needy. - A fool’s lips bring strife,
And his mouth invites beatings. - One who walks with wise people will be wise,
But a companion of fools will suffer harm. - Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
Stop doing evil. - The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
Slow to anger and abounding in mercy. - For by their own sword they did not possess the land,
And their own arm did not save them,
But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence,
For You favored them. - Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.
- Wealth obtained from nothing dwindles,
But one who gathers by labor increases it. - And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
- You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
- It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
- Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.
- Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. - Now Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent over double, and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she stood up straight again, and began glorifying God. But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, “There are six days during which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, does each of you on the Sabbath not untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it away to water it? And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this restraint on the Sabbath day?” And as He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.
- The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
And the Lord will by no means leave the guilty unpunished.
In the gale and the storm is His way,
And clouds are the dust beneath His feet. - For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.
- “And tear your heart and not merely your garments.”
Now return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and compassionate,
Slow to anger, abounding in mercy
And relenting of catastrophe. - Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
- Return and say to Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David says: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I am going to heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.”’
