- Because your steadfast love is better than life,

- But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
- Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
- For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
- It is a snare to say rashly, “It is holy,”
and to reflect only after making vows. - The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore. - House and wealth are inherited from fathers,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord. - Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
- For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
- For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
