| I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. | In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. | Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. |

| We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. | The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. | He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. |
| I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth. | And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. |
| Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. | Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. |
| It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows. | It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry. |
