| The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. | The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple. |

Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord your God and his decrees that I am commanding you today, for your own well-being. |
| If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. | If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you. |

| God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. | God gives the desolate a home to live in; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious live in a parched land. |
| A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. | A gift opens doors; it gives access to the great. |
| I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. | I can do all things through him who strengthens me. |
| The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. | May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace! |
| Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. | Likewise all to whom God gives wealth and possessions and whom he enables to enjoy them, and to accept their lot and find enjoyment in their toil—this is the gift of God. |
| Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. | No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
