For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children.Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
