If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. | If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. |
I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. | These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. |

Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. | For if the willingness is present, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. |
If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. | And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good. |
When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it. | For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law. |
But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. | But He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold.
