- Woe to him who strives with him who formed him,
a pot among earthen pots!
Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’
or ‘Your work has no handles’? - Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
- Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
- If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
- Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
- So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”
- But when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”
- For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
- And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
- And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
- And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
- For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.
- For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
- And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
- I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
- Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.
- This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. - For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are indeed his offspring.’
- This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. - For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
- For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
- Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts;
his name is the Lord;
exult before him!
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows
is God in his holy habitation. - For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
- Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
