- For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
- I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope. - You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
- A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
- But who am I, and who are my people,
That we should be able to offer so willingly as this?
For all things come from You,
And of Your own we have given You. - Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident. - Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
- The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me? - For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. - If I say, “My foot slips,”
Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. - And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
- Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You. - Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
- My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him. - For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established— that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
- Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name! - Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.”
- Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
- Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.”’
- I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
- Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.
- But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.
- But He knows the way that I take;
When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot has held fast to His steps;
I have kept His way and not turned aside.
