- See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
- “Can anyone hide himself in secret places,
So I shall not see him?” says the Lord;
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord. - Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
- Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
- One who turns away his ear from hearing the law,
Even his prayer is an abomination. - He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.”
- When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
- Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
- Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
- Most assuredly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.
- He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
- So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?” - Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
- Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
- For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
- You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
- But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
- For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
- A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
And a word spoken in due season, how good it is! - The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
- So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
- If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
- If you love Me, keep My commandments.
- For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
