- Therefore, observe the commandments of the Lord, your God. Walk in his ways and fear him.
- But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those who trust in his kindness. - While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
- For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
- For it has been granted you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him.
- Rather, professing truth and love, we will in all things grow into him who is the head, Christ.
- What is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him? - He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God.
- However, to those who did accept him
and who believed in his name
he granted the power to become children of God. - He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him?
- Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above all other names,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth. - He reveals deep and hidden mysteries
and knows what lies in the darkness,
for light dwells with him. - And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- To him who in all things is able
through the power
that is at work within us
to accomplish abundantly far more
than all we can ask or imagine,
to him be glory in the Church
and in Christ Jesus
through all generations,
forever and ever. Amen. - Seek the Lord while he still may be found;
call to him when he is close at hand. - We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that a man is justified not by the works of the Law but through faith in Jesus Christ. So we too came to believe in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in him and not by the works of the Law, for no one will be justified by the works of the Law.
- Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares about you.
- If we claim that we have fellowship with him
while we continue to live in darkness,
we are lying and do not live in the truth. - Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
- While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him.
- For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him. - But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Rather, grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for all eternity. Amen. - Take heed to follow the commandments and the laws that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways and to observe his commandments, holding fast to him and serving him with all your heart and all your soul.
God’s love was revealed to us in this way:
God sent his only-begotten Son into the world
so that we might have life through him.He who guards his mouth makes his life secure,
but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. For I, the Lord, am your God
and I grasp your right hand.
It is I who say to you,
Do not fear; I will help you.Next verse! With image
