For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. | For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. |
We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. | We are Jews by nature and not sinners from the Gentiles; nevertheless, knowing that a person is not justified by works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified. |

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. | For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. |
He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. | It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him. |
For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. | For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God. |
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. | Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. |
The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands. | The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your faithfulness, Lord, is everlasting; Do not abandon the works of Your hands. |
So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? | So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? |
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. | Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father. |
And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. | And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. |
If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. | Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment. |
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. | In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. |
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside. | But He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold. My foot has held on to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside. |
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. | For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast. |
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. | Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established. |
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. | Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. |
Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do. | Go then, eat your bread in happiness, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works. |
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. | The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him. |
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. | Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. |
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. | Because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin. |
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. |
The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. | The Lord is righteous in all His ways, And kind in all His works. |
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. | Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was granted to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity. |
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. |
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. | And Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road. |
