Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” | Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” |
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. | But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. |
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. | Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. |
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. | I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. |
You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. | You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. |
I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. |
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. | If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. |
My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. | By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. |
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. | If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. |
I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete. | These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. |
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. | This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. |
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. | Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. |
You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. | You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. |
If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. |
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. | But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. |
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. |
And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. | And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. |
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. | Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. |

Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. | Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. |
I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them. | And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them. |
